Mermaid Chè Monique emerges as the enchanting star of Netflix’s acclaimed series “Merpeople,” captivating audiences with her ethereal beauty and unwavering dedication to promoting body positivity as the esteemed President of the Society for Fat Mermaids. With her graceful movements and magnetic presence, she navigates the depths of the ocean with an adventurous spirit, forging deep connections with marine life and uncovering the mysteries of the underwater world. As a symbol of empowerment and inclusivity, Mermaid Chè Monique inspires merfolk of all shapes and sizes to embrace their true selves and celebrate the beauty within. Her leadership within the Society for Fat Mermaids fosters a sense of belonging and acceptance, echoing her message of self-love and acceptance throughout the vast expanse of the ocean.

Sable Drive is a diverse collective of passionate local musicians. Whether putting our stamp on crowd favorites or slinging original songs, this high-energy band makes sure audiences have a great time at every show.

Named after the Alexandria street where the band was founded in 2019, Sable Drive carries indie/pop/alternative influences with a dash of vintage charm.

The band draws inspiration from vintage classics, scorned woman ballads, the gritty allure of shows like ‘Fargo’ and ‘Peaky Blinders’, and the raw energy of indie rock. These covers help define the sound and how they approach our originals.

Safety Bear is an independent Hi-NRG electronic artist who weaves together pulsing dance beats and immersive atmospheres with subject matter typically alien to the dance floor. Safety Bear’s energetic live performances and studio recordings deliver original Hi-NRG bangers (and the occasional re-imagined dance classic) via the intriguing guise of a neurotic (and slightly injured) teddy bear. The injured ear, as of yet, remains unexplained. Safety Bear tracks have been remixed by Nate Lanzino, Lane Young, Chinedu Onome, and Sanity Assassin. Safety Bear EP-02 and EP-03 are produced by Steve Wright (Future Islands / Pigeons Playing Ping Pong). Safety Bear EP-04 and EP-05 are produced by Ian Shaw (Bikini Kill / Nick Heyward) . To date, Safety Bear has performed in major U.S. cities including New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Key West, and also in London, England. Local festivals have included the Fort Reno Summer Concert Series and Capitol Pride Celebration

The Saturday Night Specials is a Funk group led by Potecasi Slade. Their sound is a collective of creative originals with covers that will have you bobbing your head and tapping your feet before you know it. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses DC Go-Go, and Gospel, with funky harmonies with compelling stage charm.
